          Meg is back for another nutrition session with the Ridgefield Bicycle Club members. We are also offering a warm welcome to Tri-Ridgefield Athletes competing this June. The more the merrier! 

          Refresh your nutrition and hydration knowledge and hear the latest recommendations for sports nutrition, including how to properly use electrolytes during endurance events, fueling strategies during multisport events, and how to carb-load the right way.           Have you ever wished there was a ride that fit better in to your riding schedule? Had a destination ride that you think other members of the club might enjoy? Just want to help out on the rides you already attend? You can make it happen by becoming a RBC Ride Leader. Take your first step by attending a RL training session.

          How to become a RBC Ride Leader:

          RBC Ride Leaders are the heart of our community.  We are most grateful for your interest.  In order to uphold the integrity and safety of RBC Rides, our Ride Leaders are asked to complete the following:

          1. Become familiar with and adhere to the protocols in our RBC Group Ride Rules & Etiquette document,
          2. Complete the RBC Ride Leader Training course, dates posted seasonally on the RBC website.
          3. Conduct a “Ride Leader Internship” with an established foundation ride leader,
          4. Submit an RBC Ride Leader Application Form.

          • Overview on Gear and Bike Maintenance: Adam Ray, owner of Ridgefield Bicycle Co, will provide a brief overview of essential gear and bike maintenance tips to ensure a smooth and enjoyable riding experience.

          • Gear Review Session: Towards the end of the social, we'll have a gear review session where we'll discuss the essentials needed to start riding. This is a great opportunity for both new and veteran members to share insights and recommendations.

          We encourage all members, regardless of when you joined the club, to attend this social event. Veteran members, your experiences and perspectives are invaluable. We invite you to share what the club has meant to you and to offer guidance and support to our newest members.

                  Please join fellow RBClub members in supporting our very Special local athletes.

                  RBClub will once again escort the Special Olympics Torch Run, hosted by theRidgefield Police Department.

                  The Torch Run is put on by police departments throughout the State of CT.  The Special Olympics Torch is lit and passed along from town to town until it gets to Hartford for the Big Event.  The run will take place just before our regularly scheduled Friday 9:30 ride. The ride will take us through the streets of Ridgefield, past two schools with all the kids out to support the athletes and finishes down and along Main Street.  Please tell your friends and family to come on out and support our local Special Olympians.
