RBSC Destination Ride: Classic NYC...2019

  • The classic NYC cyclist ride route. 50 miler with shorter and extra credit options. This is basically a tour, but the pace can be adjusted, as can some of the distance and elevation gain for those that want extra credit.

  • Time of Ride: 7:00am meet at bike shop for carpooling
  • Short Narrative/Description of Ride:
     
    The idea is to go through the classic NYC cyclist ride route.  We'll start on Riverside Drive in the 90's. Ride over the GWB and then drop down under the bridge along the river to climb up to Alpine NJ. From there, in to some of the river towns (Piermont and Nyack) for a lunch stop. Back south along Rte 9W which is about a 10 mile stretch of rollers with adequate shoulder lane for cyclists. Back across the GWB, into Washington Heights, under the GWB, past the Little Red Light House (of children's book fame) and along the west side bike path back to the parking garage on the 90's.
     
    This is basically a tour, but the pace can be adjusted, as can some of the distance and elevation gain for those that want extra credit. 
  • (NOTE: We may add a surprise ferry boat ride back across the Hudson River)
  • Milage:50 Miles with shorter and extra credit options available
  • Pace: we’ll split in to A, B and C as needed
