The Riverway Ride
Roundtrip Northampton MA to Brattleboro VT Destination Ride.
The distance is 96 miles r/t, pace C+/B- and groups can
break off. This is a scenic ride that runs along the CT
river, riding west of the river heading towards Vermont and
east of the river heading back to Massachusetts. The ride
starts on Saturday June 15th at 9:00 AM from the parking lot
next door to the Fairfield Inn; parking is in the Gazette
parking lot 115 Conz Street Northampton MA. This is also
the parking lot for the Northampton Dispensary but will have
room for our cars since we are parking in the morning. Bob
Diemand from the Gazette gave us approval to leave the cars
there for the weekend. We will depart from The Latchis Hotel
on June 16th at 9:00 AM to head back to Northampton MA.
Some discounted rooms are
set aside under the name Ridgefield Bike Club and Lisa at
both the Fairfield Inn Northampton MA for Friday night June
14th (833-223-2106) and at the Latchis Hotel in Brattleboro
on June 15th (802-254-6300) These rooms are not reserved
but set aside temporarily for those wishing to book at these
hotel and will be released if not reserved with a credit
card. You are free to chose a different hotel if you prefer,
these are only suggested hotels.
This is a self supported ride and the all costs associated with the
weekend will be paid by you. For those interested we are
hoping to arrange for someone to carry/drive our bags to VT
and we will chip in accordingly to cover those costs.
For those driving up on
Friday night, a group dinner is scheduled at Fitzwilly's
in Northampton MA at 7:00 PM. And in Brattleboro we will
meet at The Whetstone Station Restaurant & Brewery for
dinner time TBD. If you plan on joining us for dinner please
let me know so I can finalize the dinner reservations.
We have a maximum number
of 22 riders. Please RSVP as soon as you know you are
going. The hotel rooms that are on hold now may be
released as early as May 14th, so if you want a room grab
now while it is still available as the hotel may run out of
rooms.
