Route:   https://zwiftinsider.com/watopia/

Description:    Big Foot Hills (Watopia on Zwift)

Meet up:   Zwift Meet-up

We'll start Sunday at 8:55 am.  It's critical that you be ready to go then, or you'll miss the chance to ride together.

We picked a route of sensible length and modest (??) climbing.  We'll keep the majority of the ride in the 3.0w/kg range. We've also set the “keep everyone together” restriction so we won’t break up on the longer climbs. As long as you’re pedaling, you should stay within a few seconds of the bunch – no matter your power output.

I’m sending this to some of the regulars, but please pass it on to anyone who you think might be interested.

Here’s the drill: If you have not already received an invitation via Zwift Companion, let me (rick.klutey@gmail.com) know in advance if you want to join and I will send you an invitation on Zwift Companion, which you just need to accept. You can reply to this email or text me at 203-733-6785. If you haven't ridden with us before but want to join, here's what you need to do:

1.  Have a Zwift account.  You can get a 7 day free trial if not currently a subscriber.

2.  Have the Zwift Companion app on your phone

3.  Tell Blake that you want to ride, so that he can invite you to follow him.  Then you'll need to check Zwift Companion and accept that invitation, at which point he can invite you to the meetup.

4.  Here's an explanation of Zwift "meetups":  https://zwiftinsider.com/meetups/  Note that Blake has designated this as no drop, so apparently you can ride as hard or as easy as you want on this course and stay with the group, as long as you continue pedaling.

5. Accept the meetup invitation in Zwift Companion.  At this point, Blake has sent invitations out to many of you who either joined the previous group Zwift rides

6.  Install Discord on your phone or computer.  Discord is an app that gamers use to talk while playing, and the attached article explains how to set it up for Zwift.  However, instead of using the code outlined in step 3, use the code just below for RBC A rides. If using your computer, you should use headphones with your speakers OFF to avoid feedback.

Warning that step 6 is a bit more complicated than the others.

Please email or text me by Saturday evening if you want to ride so that I can invite you to follow me.  I'll be happy to help anyone get connected to Discord on Saturday.  We will log onto Discord and start pedaling by 8:25 to warm up.
We will start riding at 8:35, so you need to have any technical snafus ironed out before that time.

We suggest that you have water and food along with an ample supply of towels. Ride on!

Best regards,

Rick Klutey
