The Maybrook, connecting Brewster, NY and Hopewell Junction, NY, officially opened in January 2021, and is a new addition to the larger Empire State Trailway initiative. This ride takes us from the Brewster Trailhead passing Ice Pond, The Great Swamp, a rail trestle bridge, and the back side of Greenhaven Prison(!).. Trail is flat and fully paved. Very slight grade (1.5%) up to Lake Whaley at overall trail midpoint.

9:30/45: Assembly at Brewster Trailhead in Southeast Park
10:00: Commence Ride
12:00/12:30 Arrive Hopewell Junction
12:00/12:30- 1:15 Lunch
1:30: Depart back to Brewster
3:30: Arrive Brewster Trailhead
DRIVING DIRECTIONS: Ridgefield area to Brewster Trailhead
1-From Intersection of Route 121(Peach Lake Road) and Route 6, take Route 6 West
2-On Route 6 West proceed to Peaceable Hill Road (right turn just after Route 6 turns away from Route 202)
3- Take Peaceable Hill Road to end and turn RIGHT onto Tonetta Lake Road;
4-In less than 200yards, just past the Rte 84 underpass, Pump House Road will be on your LEFT;
5-Follow Pump House a half mile or so over the tracks and Trail to the end of Pump House into a small park where a gravel entryway takes you to the parking area for the Brewster/ Maybrook Trailhead.
