Build Skills and Confidence

The Maybrook, connecting Brewster, NY and Hopewell Junction, NY, officially opened in January 2021, and is a new addition to the larger Empire State Trailway initiative. This ride takes us from the Brewster Trailhead passing Ice Pond, The Great Swamp and a rail trestle bridge. Trail is flat and fully paved. Very slight grade (1.5%) up to Lake Whaley at trail midpoint, where we will turn around.

DISTANCE: 25 miles round trip, all on rail trail
PACE: 12-15 mph
LEVEL: All levels welcomed. Given the easy terrain, expectation is that any C rider and better will have no problem with the ride.  This is a more social vs competitive ride, and we will be sharing the trail with walkers and casual bikers.
