Description: ***New this Season*** - The goal is to post a Travel Gravel ride once a month. The objective is to ride some gravel routes that are outside of our local area ~ generally within two hours of Ridgefield.
Our third ride (47.4 miles, 46% gravel) will be in the Litchfield/White Memorial area again (about 60 minutes from Ridgefield). This ride is organized by the KC&E Ride Club and starts at the coffee roaster, Krafted Brew Lab at 9am. There is no fee/cost for this ride. Route Details:
• White Memorial Park: Enjoy the scenic trails and natural beauty of this expansive park, one of our favorite spots for its lush landscapes.
• Hidden Valley: Experience some of the best-hidden trails, offering a sense of adventure and seclusion.
• Camp Columbia: Explore this historic site, an old Columbia University campus near Bantam Lake, featuring a neat tower.
• Dirt Roads to Litchfield: Traverse the scenic dirt roads leading up to Litchfield, with beautiful overlooks and picturesque views.
Highlights:
• Technical Sections: Be prepared for some technical bits, especially due to recent rain. Ensure you are confident on gravel, double track, and easier single track on your gravel bike.
• Overlook of Bantam Lake: Enjoy a beautiful overlook of Bantam Lake, providing a perfect spot to take in the scenery.
• White Memorial and Hidden Valley: These sections are among our favorites, offering natural beauty and varied terrain that make for a truly enjoyable ride.
Ride Type:
• Adventure ride featuring a mix of double track and easier single track.
• Ideal for riders comfortable with technical bits on their gravel bikes.
Recommended Bike:
• A bike with 38C or larger tires for optimal performance on the terrain.

RIDERS MUST HAVE GRAVEL TIRES. "Recommended" tire width would be 38mm or larger. No road tires allowed on this ride. Riders with road tires will not be checked in and will not be covered under club insurance. Please have route downloaded.
