Description: ***New this Season*** - The goal is to post a Travel Gravel ride once a month. The objective is to ride some awesome gravel routes that are outside of our local area ~ generally within two hours of Ridgefield.
Ever had a gravel question? Unsure how to handle a gravel segment? Our Ninth Travel Gravel ride will start off with a FREE Gravel Clinic, led by KC&E and open to all skill levels. Clinic will cover gravel-specific bike handling techniques, including:
After the clinic, we will head out for a gravel ride in the Washington/Roxbury area. The route is 28.2 miles, 49% unpaved. We start in the parking lot behind the Washington Depot Town Hall, about 55 minutes from Ridgefield. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before start and have route downloaded. Post ride lunch @ GW Tavern.
RIDERS MUST HAVE GRAVEL TIRES. "Recommended" tire width would be 38mm or larger. No road tires allowed on this ride. Riders with road tires will not be checked in and will not be covered under club insurance.
