Description: ***New this Season*** - The goal is to post a Travel Gravel ride once a month. The objective is to ride some awesome gravel routes that are outside of our local area ~ generally within two hours of Ridgefield.
Travel Gravel #11 (50 minutes from Ridgefield) will be in the Litchfield County area on a route that's 34% unpaved. We will be riding with folks from KC&E.
KC&E "This ride begins and ends in New Preston, CT, taking you through 41 miles of Litchfield County gravel. You'll tackle the hills early with a gradual climb from miles 5 to 19, followed by a punchy middle section. A steep descent awaits at mile 35, then the route flattens out as you head back around the lake."
Post ride unwind at The Smithy Cafe in charming New Preston, where a sandwich and coffee will be ready to help you refuel before your drive home. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before start and have route downloaded.
RIDERS MUST HAVE GRAVEL TIRES. "Recommended" tire width would be 38mm or larger. No road tires allowed on this ride. Riders with road tires will not be checked in and will not be covered under club insurance.
