Join fellow RBC members at the nearby Bloomin’ Metric coming up on Sunday, May 18th. This year we’ll have our RBC canopy and banner at Sherwood Island State Park for us to congregate pre- and post-ride, with riding in the morning followed by a delicious lunch, music and fun at the Park, in Westport by the Long Island Sound.
The Bloomin’ Metric is for riders of all levels - novice through experienced - with rides beginning and ending at the Park. Family, friends and groups are welcome. Young adult riders (12 & up) with an adult are encouraged to participate. All ages are welcome to join the riders at the Park post-ride!
There are 4 routes (15, 25, 47 and 62 miles) to choose from which travel along quiet roads and stunning beaches of the Sound and through classic New England countryside. For the inexperienced rider, there is a shorter ride (either 15 miles or 25 miles) led by ride leaders for a no-worry experience.

When: 05/18/2025 arrive 6:30 to 8:30 am, depending on the route you are riding
Start Time: arrive in time to check-in and get ready (allow at least 45 minutes). Start time depends on your route and your preference. Suggested start times are:
62 mi: 7 am to 7:30 am [arrive 6:30 am - 6:45 am]
47 mi: 7:30 am to 9 am [arrive 6:45 am - 7:15 am]
25 mi: 8:30 am to 9:30 am [arrive 7:45 am - 8:45 am]
15 mi: 9:30 am to 10:00 am [arrive 8:45 am - 9:15 am]
Note: the special rides led by SCBC ride leaders, for less experienced riders, gather at 9 am [arrive 8:15 am]
Ride Leader: THIS IS A MEET UP RIDE - THERE ARE NO RBC RIDE LEADERS. RBC MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO INVITE FRIENDS, FAMILY & OTHER MEMBERS, MEET UP AT THE EVENT & STAY AFTER FOR THE FESTIVITIES.
