MAYBROOK RAIL TRAIL- 45 MILES

This is a 45 mile out and back on the Maybrook Trailway, that is to say, the Full Maybrook. The ride takes us from the Brewster Trailhead at Tonetta Lake to Hopewell Junction and back.  There is a stop for lunch, at Daddy O’s Restaurant, in Hopewell Jct.

The trail is nearly flat (max grade about 1.5%), fully paved, and really quite scenic.  See the YouTube videos listed below.

DISTANCE: 45 miles round trip, all on paved rail trail

PACE: 12-15 mph

LEVEL: C+ AND ABOVE.

APPROXIMATE SCHEDULE:

9:30/45: Assembly at Brewster Trailhead in Southeast Park

10:00:   Commence Ride

12:00/12:30   Arrive Hopewell Junction

12:00/12:30- 1:15  Lunch

1:30:  Depart back to  Brewster

3:30: Arrive Brewster Trailhead

DRIVING DIRECTIONS: Ridgefield area to Brewster Trailhead 

1-From Intersection of Route 121(Peach Lake Road) and Route 6, take Route 6 West

2-On Route 6 West proceed to Peaceable Hill Road (right turn just after Route 6 turns away from Route 202)

3- Take Peaceable Hill Road to end and turn RIGHT onto Tonetta Lake Road; 

4-In less than 200yards, just past the Rte 84 underpass, Pump House Road will be on your LEFT;

5-Follow Pump House a half mile or so over the tracks and Trail to the end of Pump House into a small park where a gravel entryway takes you to the parking area for the Brewster/ Maybrook Trailhead.
