Description: Destination Foliage - Gravel bike Ride
Gravel Bikes with wide tires and strong climbing legs required
Check Wild Apricot for routes, updates and cancellations.
Pace: Brisk pace for main group. It's possible we'll split into two groups - especially if some people want to skip the 2nd climb.
Main Route: Litchfield Gravel 45
Bailout Route: Litchfield Gravel 40
Description: The Sunday A Road Ride is going to test some off-road skills on their annual destination foliage ride. The route will take in the challenging Mt Riga and Sunset Rock climbs followed by ~20 miles of descent and rollers - with lots of gravel.
This is a new route for the group, and it's certainly possible there will be surprises. Gravel bikes are mandatory and an abundance of caution is advised. There is one food stop along route, with another 5 mile food detour possible, but everyone should carry plenty of food and water. There is a bailout route posted in case anyone wants to skip Sunset Rock after climbing the Mt Riga fire road.
Car poolers can meet at the shop and depart by 7:00am. The whole group should meet up in Falls Village, CT at the Appalachian Trail - Water Street Parking. We will aim to be rolling by 8:30am.
Ride Leader: Blake Murdock / Dom Rauccio
