Join KC&E Adventures for a day of guided cycling experiences hosted from the beautiful Mayflower Inn & Spa. Celebrate the magic of autumn in Western Connecticut with crisp air, colorful foliage, and three unforgettable ride options designed for all ability levels.
Ride Options
Recreational E-Bike Apple Picking Experience (4.5 or 9 miles)
Ride premium pedal-assist e-bikes through scenic country roads to Averill Farm, where you’ll enjoy a classic New England apple-picking experience. Choose a shorter 4.5-mile ride with shuttle return or the full 9-mile round trip. Estimated ride + experience time is ~2 hours and 30 minutes.
Beginner-Friendly Gravel Ride (16.5 miles)
Explore the beautiful Shepaug River and the trails of Steep Rock Preserve on a mix of gravel and backcountry roads. This ride is relaxed and group-paced, with a few short climbs. E-bike rentals are available for extra support. Estimated ride time is ~1 hour 40 minutes.

⛰ Intermediate to Advanced Gravel Ride (33.5 miles)
Challenge yourself on this longer loop through Washington and Roxbury, featuring classic Northwest Connecticut climbs and rolling backcountry terrain. Designed for experienced riders ready for a higher-effort adventure. Estimated ride time is ~3 hours.

Event Details
8:00 AM – Coffee, tea, fruit, and pastries at The Retreat Outdoor Tent (the wellness center and spa at the Mayflower Inn)
9:00 AM – All routes roll out together
Finish – Return to the Mayflower, with the option to book brunch at the warming Garden Room on property

38mm gravel tires or wider are suggested. If you don't have that reach out to KC&E for a rental so you can see the joy that wider tires brings! They rent gravel bikes, mountain bikes and e-bikes.
