Who is this For?: Fun, historical ride at B pace. Longer (metric distance) require fitness and ability to ride cool conditions!
The Alice's Restaurant Bicycle Ride is held every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The 2026 ride will be on Saturday November 28th. We start in Salisbury, CT and go up to Stockbridge, MA. The ride is 67 miles with 3300 ft of ascent in 5 climbs. The route passes farms, goes along streams and through villages in the Berkshires and of course passes the famous Alice's Restaurant Garbage Trail sites. The two shorter rides both start from the Guthrie Center (the church where Alice lived) and follow parts of the long route. All routes go past the site of Alice's restaurant, the Scene of the Crime, the police officer's station, the site of the dump and the church where Alice lived. Roger will lead the longer (68 mile) ride.

There are generally groups riding at various levels ranging from about 14 to 17+ mph. I will ride with a B group at 15-16 mph. There will be a faster group. There are several options to shorten the route since it makes a big loop around Great Barrington, so you can cut back to Great Barrington then head south on Route 41 to Salisbury.
All routes converge before Stockbridge, but all groups will meet in Stockbridge between 12:30 & 1pm. Many riders stop for lunch at the Elm Street Market • 4 Elm Street . The library at the corner of Elm & Main is next door and has restrooms available.
