PARKING LOT -Route overview - pace, anticipated stops, road hazards, regrouping -Check: Route loaded? Water and food? Tools? Batteries? -Pods of 6 or less (divide group) -Split pod further on busy (numbered) roads with traffic -Ride to right side of road in lane (as is safe), use shoulders -Never ride more than 2 abreast -Ride single file, offset wheel formation on busy (numbered) roads -Never cross wheel plane w/ rider ahead -Pass on left ONLY, call out ‘On your left!' -Obey all traffic lights, signs and laws -Ride safe, smooth pace & predictable line EN ROUTE Emergency - -Call 911 -Secure the scene -Do NOT move victim -Make sure rider is safe -Accompany victim to hospital Rider Safety Issues - -Address group early in the ride -Address rider individually
