BEGINNER CYCLIST SERIES:
Have you ever seen a group of riders on the road and said, “Wish I could do that?” Or thought, “I will never be able....”
Is there a nice bike waiting patiently in your garage, hopeful that this season you’ll take it out to some lovely locations, outside the garage?
Well wait no more!
Here’s your chance to toss away the timidity, brush away the busyness and give bicycling a try, in a safe and fun environment.
The goal of our Beginner Ride Series is to help participants become confident riders, familiar with the basics of group and road riding skills. Each session is progressive and will build on skills taught on previous ride. These are small group sessions.
This is a gentle introduction. Our first 2 rides will be on the brand new Maybrook trail - a quiet, relatively flat, paved trail, starting in Brewster, NY.
You will learn gearing, how to keep distance, passing, etc., as well as hand and verbal signals, road rules and group etiquette. A flat tire clinic will be offered.
The third ride will be on quiet Ridgfield roads, where you get to practice your newly acquired skills! The rides will be well supported with at least two experienced riders to encourage you with pointers as you ride.

DATES:
SERIES 1: Thursday, May 13, 20 & 27 - May 13, 20 @ 10 am. Start point: Maybrook Trail in Brewster.
May 27 Ridgefield road ride at 10am.
Flat Tire Clinic 5/27, AFTER final ride, 12:00 pm, at the Shop.
Assume 1.5 to 2 hours of instruction/riding time.
We encourage Road Bikes or equivalent.
