The Ridgefield Bicycle Club is throwing its annual Kickoff Party, Thursday, February 6th at 7pm! All are invited to find out all about RBC happenings and offerings. Enjoy snacks from Southwest Cafe and The Cake BoxAnconas Wines & Liquors will be providing wine & beer. This party is free to all members and those interested in finding out more about RBC.

RBC offers Road, Gravel, and Mountain Rides, Rail Trail, Track Workouts, Thirsty Thursdays, Clinics, Summer Grand Finale Party, Social Gatherings, Advocacy and more with local athletes of multiple levels. This is a community of fun loving, bike riding, running, multi-sporting folks! Come on out and play!

The Ridgefield Bicycle Club was born out of an idea at the original home of Ridgefield Bicycle Company on Catoonah Street. A friend of owner’s Sean and Jacqui Dowd and TriRidgefield founder, Evan McGerald, pondered taking the shop rides to a new level. He thought the shop could organize a club where local athletes could join together as a team. Members could ride, race, train and socialize. Thirteen years and a yearly membership of 435 athletes later, RBC has become that and a solid community for all levels of athletes. RBC is one of the largest cycling clubs in the country. It is home to six weekly road and mountain bike rides, rail trail rids, bi-weekly track run workouts, educational clinics, winter virtual rides, destination rides and the ever popular Thirsty Thursday Ride. The newest addition has been rides that go to the back dirt roads where traffic is light and the riding is not too technical. The club caters to beginner through advanced levels.

“The true essence of this club is the people who make it a welcoming and seriously fun culture to be a part of while honoring our mission of safety, respect and responsibility,” says RBC founding member, Jacqui Dowd.

RBC is hosting its annual Kickoff Party on Thursday, February 6th, 7pm at its host, The Lounsbury House .  Current members and anyone interested in finding out more, are invited to hear about offerings and updates for the 2025 season. Snacks by club sponsors, Southwest Cafe, The Cake Box and Anconas Wines & Liquors will be on hand.
